Day 6
After our stop at Dachau, we made our way to Ruette. Along the way we stopped at Wieskirche, a church in the Bavarian countryside. This church houses a miracle and has become a pilgrimage site for centuries. Finally, right before dinner time we arrived at the hotel. Dinner was provided in the hotel both nights in Ruette.
Day 7
Today, we made our way back into Germany to visit two castles. The first castle was Mad King Ludwig's castle. To get up to the castle you could either walk up the trail or take a trolley. We chose to walk up the trail (and it was quite the incline!), and with each step the beautiful, Disney-like castle was closer and closer. After a few stops to catch our breath, we reached to castle and had some time before the tour began so we decided to look at the view from the bridge. Now, this bridge is not your typical bridge. This bridge is a suspension-type bridge, with dozens of people on it at a time. It was a little nerve-racking but definitely worth it.

After our tour, we made our way to Hohenschwangau castle, which was the castle Ludwig grew up in. We had some down time to wander around the lake adjacent to the castles. Due to the rain, we didn't get to go on the luge ride, which was a bummer. Instead, the bus dropped off those of us who were interested in wandering around near the center of town. We stopped by a local grocery store and bought some Duplo bars, and then just enjoyed our walk back to the hotel stopping along the way for a few photo-ops.
